January 5, 2016 (Pittsburgh, PA) Ms. Zersha Munir, a recent graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and current employee of UPMC, has joined LEAD Pittsburgh to focus on public relations for the organization.

Zersha Munir

Devoted to promoting mental health wellness, Zersha aims to diminish the negative stigma associated with depression by increasing awareness and treatment of mental health conditions.

Her published writing includes articles discussing depression and other neurological concepts, featured in university and medical entities like UPMC’s HealthBeat blog and the University of Pittsburgh’s The Pitt Pulse magazine.

She hopes to use her knowledge of the Pittsburgh area, gained through her college experience and work as a Communications Intern with the Allegheny Conference’s ImaginePittsburgh.com, to integrate mental wellness information into educational institutions and community organizations.

Ms. Munir’s strong writing experience, communication skills and social media knowledge align with LEAD Pittsburgh’s goals, and LEAD looks forward to the partnership bringing serious discussions of depression to light.
