LEAD Pittsburgh has partnered with the Reel Teens of Steeltown Entertainment Project to facilitate a Facebook Live event for teens. The entire live broadcast will last about 30 minutes, and will consist of two parts:
- Clips from the previously produced Reel Teens mental health TV special titled “Stand Together: Help and Hope” will be highlighted.
Preview the TV special here (28 minutes): https://www.leadpittsburgh.org/reel-teens
- A discussion hosted by the Reel Teens and a panel consisting of both experts and teens from the show will allow for an interactive Q & A experience.
The live broadcast will take place on Thursday November 9, 2017 from 3:30 – 4:00 p.m. (eastern time) on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/steeltown.entertainment/.
The goals of the event are to address the stigma which often surrounds mental health concerns, to provide an opportunity for students to hear from experts, ask questions, get answers, and comment about the topic of mental health, to stress the importance of reaching out for help if needed, and to show that youth CAN and DO live full lives even while managing mental health challenges.
Please contact LEAD Pittsburgh at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or to join the official list of participants. LEAD Pittsburgh and Steeltown Entertainment Project are excited to facilitate this vital conversation about youth and mental health. Thank you in advance for your participation!
